No need to ascend to heaven,
the verdict was clear:
I am the last they would allow.

Now, I roam the earth alone—
wings tucked away,
nevermore to soar on high;
earthbound is where I stay.

I find beauty in the mundane:
in whispers of leaves,
in the rain's gentle caress,
in all the eye can see.

Heaven was not meant for me,
nor stars a home above.
Heaven is found in moments here,
in every act of love.

Wander not in sorrow,
but in wonder of the now,
embracing every borrowed heartbeat,
beneath the willow's bough.

Heaven's gate may be closed,
the verdict, forever sealed.
Yet, in this earthly garden,
a heaven is revealed
