Split apart,
 one soul remained,
  the other departed—
   in the void, now I search.


It began with a gesture,
 a small act of kindness,
  then bloomed into love, 
   a warmth unfurling.

Later to peace, 
 a quiet understanding,
  and into harmony, 
   a symphony shared.

But within each note,
 crept a dissonance –
  anger in hushed words,
   hatred in turned backs,
    fear in the silence,
     chaos in the void.

Now, adrift in the labyrinth
 of fractured memories,
  painted with joy's bright hues
   and sorrow's deep blues.

I tread softly
 through the dimming echoes,
  where laughter once echoed,
   now only shadows dance.

Each heartbreak,
 a hidden lesson engraved,
  in every tear,
   the ink of an untold tale.

Towards a new dawn, I journey,
 embracing fragments of a once-whole heart,
  where in the whispers of broken dreams,
   lingers a promise of wholeness
.
