Journey to Self

In the labyrinth of life, I walked,
Years spent on paths, where lions stalked.
Bravery notched in every stride,
Defeating fears that dwell inside.
My mind, once weary, now shines bright,
Heart unveiled in the purest light.
Soul's embrace, tender and serene,
A tranquil mind, once never seen.
The first act passed in pleasing crowds,
Their applause loud, their expectations shrouds.
The second, in silent thought I wept,
For dreams forgone and promises not kept.
I leave behind the actor's mask,
To bask in truth, my only task.
Healed and whole, contentment found,
On solid ground, my spirit unbound.
Fortune’s gifts, once held so tight,
Now seeds of joy, taking flight.
Generosity, my heart’s new song,
In giving, I find where I belong.
With every step, the air tastes sweet,
The path unfolds beneath my feet.
Salvation not in distant skies,
But where the journey of the self lies.
